East Fallowfield Township Seeks Community Members to Serve on newly formed Project Task Force to guide the development of a Village Master Plan for the Newlinville section of East Fallowfield Township
In August 2019, East Fallowfield Township received a $21,266 Vision Partnership Program grant from the Chester County Planning Commission to develop a Village Master Plan for the Newlinville section of the Township. (The neighborhood runs along a stretch of Rt. 82/Doe Run Road and includes Jane Street and portions of Newlinville Road). The Township has hired a consultant from Thomas Comitta and Associates to lead the planning effort.
The Village Master Plan for Newlinville is consistent with the East Fallowfield Township Comprehensive Plan which proposes a “Village Style development” for this section of East Fallowfield Township. The Plan is intended to achieve a high-quality walkable neighborhood for Newlinville. The Village Master plan will include a concept plan for streetscape improvements to make the area more attractive, recommendations for public improvement needs and recommendations for zoning amendments to encourage homeowners to rehabilitate aging properties and encourage more commercial uses.
Ideal candidates for the Task Force will be local residents who live in the Newlinville neighborhood of East Fallowfield Township. The Task Force will consist of a balance of backgrounds from Newlinville residents, property owners and business owners. Volunteers should have an interest in improving this section of the community and be able to attend at least six task force meetings in the evening and three public workshops over the course of a year.
